Fun

Fun ... a concept not easily verbalised. What one finds fun, another may not. What someone finds enjoyable one weekend may not have the same appeal the next. It's dependent on many factors ... age, money, gender, personal experience, time, mental state.

For a couple in their 40's/50's drinking wine, eating greasy Chinese and watching DVDs constitutes a night of amusement. Look for a bunch of 16-year-olds and you'll find them dirty dancing to music which is sure to send them deaf sometime soon.  They'll be drunk, stoned, smoking or all of the above. Go to a trendy bar/club and you'll find people dancing to sexy, smooth music which you'd hear in fashion shows. They'll be casually chatting to friends and battering eyelids across the room to someone they think is vaguely attractive.

Often there's those who are partial to all the above. Some like looking glamorous in the summer time where skin is tanned and scarcely blemished. Then when winter comes, it's all about having great friends, a few drinks and loads of junk food near a heater. Clubbing in winter means lugging a jacket around ... such a hassle.

The seasons seem to change your mood. It takes just that little bit more effort to get up out from under the cosy covers and actually get dressed to pop down to the shops for groceries, let alone for coffee or lunch with friends. Yet, the possibility of having a laugh, a piece of decent conversation or a fabulously frothy latte, staying in bed for the sake of comfort and convenience seems stupid.

Fun ... there might be diverse ways of having it. But when you do you never forget the feeling and you always crave more.
